About us

The Norwegian Association of Hunters and Anglers has over 110,000 members, and consists of more than 550 local and 19 county associations. Making us both one of the biggest outdoor organizations, and also one of the oldest organizations in Norway. We employ around 80 people, where 40 work in the central administration and 40 work in the county offices.

We work to to secure the strong positions of hunting and angling in Norway.

Our mission is to secure the same opportunities for future generations to have access to "the meaning of life"; access to nature and the opportunity to harvest from a sustainable natural resource. 

Our vision is everlasting enjoyment through hunting and fishing for everyone.

The Norwegian Asssociation of Hunters and Anglers is democratically organized at all three organizational levels; locally, regionally and nationally. 

All levels elect their own board members, and all operations are based on voluntary and ideal effort.

We are local

It is in one of our many local associations, the hunters and anglers clubs, that our members find most of their membership offers and activities.

Here our members find activities ranging form hunting, angling, shooting, training of hunting dogs and other natural offers within our interests. We also have more specialized clubs, that only focus on certain core activities, such as competition shooting or angling as their only purpose.

We are regional

The county associations serve the local clubs within their geographic area. They act as a link between the central administration and the local clubs. They also aid the local associations with different matters, from economical questions, training and courses and political influence.

We are national

Every three years the General Assembly elects the national board and determine policies and make strategic decisions on behalf of the members. The national General Assembly is the highest body of the entire organization. Decisions made here apply to all levels. All attendees are elected and volunteering members.

We are international

The Norwegian Association of Hunters and Anglers is a member of Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU - FACE.

The Norwegian Association of Hunters and Anglers is a member of European Anglers Alliance - EAA.
